The PhD in “Sciences and Technologies for Electrical Engineering and Complex Systems for Mobility collects the experiences of previous Doctorates in Electrical and Naval Engineering, active up to the XXVIII cycle, and significant contributions from the ICT sector (Information and Communication Technologies) and aims to integrate them into an interdisciplinary general framework, in line with the establishment of the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN) where it has its administrative and scientific headquarters.
The PhD has a strong scientific and industrial connotation with close ties to international, national and industry realities present in Liguria. Industrial companies at national and international level, in fact, share experiences in various sectors (automation, energy, ICT, transport) to introduce “intelligence” in systems such as electrical networks, naval systems, automation systems, especially when it comes to complex systems.
The Doctorate is based on a didactic activity coordinated with an intense research activity, led by tutors, also completed with stays in qualified foreign offices, aimed at acquiring independent work skills, analysis, synthesis and development of innovative contributions. The structuring of the Doctorate is aimed at achieving three educational objectives: (a) preparatory training, to reduce any entry training debts, particularly in the fields of applied mathematics, acquire complementary skills and encourage the inclusion of students of different study courses; (b) basic research training; (c) specialized research training.
